Did you know that WhatsApp allows you to share a contact’s information from your device’s address book with other users in chats? For instance, you may want to share a family member’s contact information with another member of your family. Our guide will show you how this works.

Note: These screenshots were captured in the WhatsApp application on iOS. Also note, this process is slightly different on Android.

Step 1: Tap the chat you wish to share someone’s contact info within.

Step 2: On iOS, tap the “+” in the bottom-left corner of the screen. On Android, tap the paper clip icon at the bottom of the screen.

Step 3: Tap “Contact.”

Step 4: Tap the contact(s) whose information you want to share.

Step 5: On iOS, tap “Done” in the top-right corner of the screen. On Android, tap the arrow in the bottom-right corner of the screen.

Step 6 (optional): On iOS, tap the checkmark to the left of any piece of information you don’t want to share (for instance, a person’s home address). On Android, tap the checkmark to the right of any piece of information you don’t want to share.

Step 7: On iOS, tap “Send” in the top-right corner of the screen to share the contact information. On Android, tap the paper airplane in the bottom-right corner of the screen to share the contact’s information.
