Commonwealth//McCann, McCann’s agency dedicated to Chevrolet, has appointed Todd Riddle as CCO, global markets.

The appointment follows the departure of deputy global CCO Greg Braun, who is retiring from advertising after 25 years. Braun joined McCann in September of 2016, following stints at Innocean and GTB.

Riddle will oversee all creative work on Chevrolet globally, based out of the agency’s Detroit headquarters. He will partner with U.S. CCO Gary Pascoe, who will continue to lead creative in the U.S., and executive vice president, deputy CCO Matt Canzano.

“Todd is a baller,” McCann global creative chairman Rob Reilly said in a statement. “And when a talent like him becomes available, you make every effort to bring him in to help lead an already stacked creative team.”

“We are thrilled to have a creative mind of Todd’s caliber joining our team,” added McCann global president, diversified agencies Bill Kolb. “His diverse range of talents and experiences show that he’s uniquely plugged in to our culture and that he knows how to inspire, engage and invent courageous, boundary-pushing work. I’m confident that Todd’s vision and perspective will help our team achieve Chevrolet’s brand goals as we continue to work on their dynamic global business.”

Riddle joins McCann from the Denver office of Wilson & Company, where he spent over 15 years, most recently serving as transportation visualization lead. He has also won two screenwriting awards, directed a music video and had a painting series entitled “A Tribute To Emily” open in a gallery in New York.

Riddle’s arrival comes a month after McCann New York hired Colm Murphy as chief strategy officer. Last month also saw the U.S. Army extending its contract with McCann amidst an ongoing review in which the agency filed a protest in August after initially being eliminated from the process.
